The Speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly, Chiji Collins has been impeached.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Mr. Paul Emeziem from Onuimo has been appointed as the new speaker of the House of Assembly.

Collins was removed on Friday during a plenary session in the assembly complex in Owerri.

Sources reveal that Collins was relieved of his position on allegations of gross misconduct and financial impropriety. 19 out of 27 house members pushed for Collins removal.
